As a first-time attendee of a Faithless live performance, any concerns about the band's new lineup quickly dissipate. The thunderous chords, pounding drums, and mesmerizing light displays make a resounding statement: while one of rave music’s most iconic bands may have lost their charismatic frontman, Maxi Jazz, Faithless has adapted and evolved, continuing to ignite fervor among massive, energetic crowds.

Hot on the heels of rave reviews from headline performances at Glastonbury, Wilderness, and Bestival, Faithless brought their electrifying show to Belfast’s historic Telegraph Building in late October. Far from feeling like a band searching for footing after a significant loss, their performance exuded passion, soul, and confidence. As part of their highly anticipated 21-date UK and EU tour, the band unveiled their awe-inspiring new live setup—a showcase first introduced on a limited-run tour earlier this year. The Telegraph Building, with its industrial charm and cavernous space, provided the perfect backdrop for an evening that journeyed through electronic music history, radiating waves of euphoria.

Sister Bliss, at the helm of the seven-piece band, commands the stage with an enigmatic intensity. Effortlessly blending big-room dancefloor anthems with more tender, introspective tracks from their forthcoming album, Champion Sound, she steers the crowd through a spectrum of emotions. The band’s recent single, “Find A Way,” stands out as a classic house anthem with its infectious piano loops and driving beats. It slides seamlessly into the setlist alongside iconic tracks, a vivid reminder of why Faithless remains one of electronic music’s most influential forces in the 21st century.

From the moment the lights dimmed, the crowd’s roars set the tone for the night—a collective celebration of dance music’s unifying power. The audience's unwavering energy felt like a tribute not only to the band’s enduring legacy but also to the shared euphoria of live music. This reimagined iteration of Faithless doesn't dwell on replacing the irreplaceable but instead channels its renewed energy into cementing electronic music’s rightful place on the world stage.

By the time the final beats reverberated through the venue, it was clear: Faithless has not merely survived the loss of Maxi Jazz—they have thrived. Their performance was a testament to resilience, reinvention, and the enduring magic of electronic music. Maxi Jazz's spirit undoubtedly lives on in their music, and this electrifying show is one he would surely be proud of.
